HCHC Launches Continuing Education Series on Parish Administration, Evangelism

Hellenic College Holy Cross announces the launch of two new Continuing Education series designed to equip clergy and lay leaders with essential skills for ministry. The first series focuses on parish leadership and administration. The initial course, Faith & Finance: Stewardship, Planned Giving, and Fundraising in the Orthodox Parish, begins in late April and is now open for registration. The Evangelism series will follow with course offerings during the summer of 2025.

These innovative programs provide practical leadership, administration, and evangelism training, that empower participants to enhance their parish ministries. Courses consist of weekly, 60-minute synchronous video conferences held in the early evening (Eastern time) and asynchronous coursework via the Canvas Learning Management System. Participants will earn stackable credentials leading to leadership, fundraising, or evangelism certification.

Series highlights:

  • The Parish Leadership and Administration Series is designed to equip clergy, parish council members, and lay leaders with the essential skills and knowledge to effectively manage and lead their parishes. The first course of the series is called Faith & Finance: Stewardship, Planned Giving, and Fundraising in the Orthodox Parish”. It begins April 28 and will be led by Fr. Jim Kordaris, Director of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese Department of Stewardship, Outreach & Evangelism. It addresses topics such as stewardship, planned giving, and donor engagement.
  • The Evangelism Series will be led by Fr. Luke Veronis. This three-part, four-week series explores effective approaches to sharing the Gospel in today’s world. Participants will examine biblical and theological foundations, real-world case studies, and practical strategies for outreach and discipleship.

“We are thrilled to offer these new continuing education opportunities,” said Dr. Demetrios Katos, HCHC President. “These programs will provide clergy and lay leaders with the tools to strengthen their ministries, engage their communities, and advance the mission of the Church.”

Flexible Learning for Global Impact Courses are offered in a remote hybrid format to accommodate clergy and lay leaders worldwide. The combination of synchronous and asynchronous learning ensures accessibility while allowing participants to engage with expert faculty and peers in a collaborative online environment.
